easyJet airline launch a new route between Edinburgh and Basel, Switzerland, with tickets going on sale today (Thursday 1 July).
And with cheap fares starting at just £25.99 (one-way) a trip from Scotland’s historical capital to the cultural capital of Switzerland is more accessible than ever.
easyJet provide Scottish travellers with a four-times-weekly service (running Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday).
Paul Simmons, UK regional general manager of easyJet, said: “Basel is a city full of culture, history and leisure and we are delighted to offer our Scottish travellers the chance to visit this great location.
“This new route is a superb addition to our Edinburgh portfolio which now boasts a fantastic choice of 18 routes across Europe.”
easyJet operates flights to an array of destinations from Edinburgh airport – Alicante, Amsterdam, Basel, Belfast Int, Bristol, Geneva, Krakow, Lisbon, London Gatwick, Luton, Stansted, Lyon, Madrid, Majorca, Milan, Munich, Nice and Paris.
By offering the lowest fares to the most convenient airports, this year easyJet will grow profitably by 10% and will carry 50 million passengers on over 500 routes between 122 airports in 29 countries.
