American airlines Offer Daily Nonstop Service Between New York JFK and Rio de Janeiro.
Additionally, our new service to Brasilia from Miami our largest U.S. gateway to Brazil and to all of South America will be the first service in a long while from a U.S. carrier.
American airlines fly between New York and Rio de Janeiro using 225-seat Boeing 767-300 aircraft, which accommodate 30 Business Class and 195 Economy Class passengers. American will offer convenient connections to Rio de Janeiro via New York JFK for a number of major U.S. cities, In addition, American begins two daily flights from JFK to Fort Lauderdale (FLL), both using a 140-seat Boeing Super MD-80.
American Eagle Airlines, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, also launched daily nonstop service between JFK and three U.S. destinations – Norfolk International Airport (ORF), Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), and Indianapolis International Airport (IND) – using 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 jets.
"I am thrilled that American Airlines continues to add service from its hub at Miami International Airport," said Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez. "The addition of Brasilia, the sixth destination in Brazil served by American from Miami, further solidifies Miami-Dade County's position as the Gateway to the Americas."

From GIG to New York JFK (Flight begins Nov. 19, 2010):
Flight 256 Depart: 11:05 p.m. Arrive: 6:15 a.m. (next day)
From Miami to Brasilia (Flight begins Nov. 19, 2010)(Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun):
Flight 243 Depart: 11:10 p.m. Arrive: 9:35 a.m. (next day)
From Brasilia to Miami (Mon, Thur, Sat, Sun):
Flight 248 Depart: 11:05 a.m. Arrive: 3:45 p.m. (same day)
