Day 1 Beijing / Shanghai - Kunming - Zhongdian Flight to Zhongdian via Kunming. Arrival in the afternoon, transfer to the hotel, followed by time at leisure. Day 2 Zhongdian (B, L) Songzan Tibetan Temple, Emerald Pagoda Lake Visit the 300 year old Songzan Tibetan Temple and take in the beautiful natural panoramic vistas of the area. After appreciating the crystal clear waters of the Emerald Pagoda Lake (at a height of 3,800m), there will be ample time for you to discover the locale by yourself and even visit a Tibetan family. Return to Zhongdian in the afternoon, time for leisurely exploration. Day 3 Zhongdian - Lijiang - Banyan Tree Resort Lijiang (B, L) Tiger Leaping Gorge

Today's travel takes us to the famous "Tiger Leaping Gorge" on the Yangtze River. Also known by locals as the Gold Sand River, its waters have slashed an impressive gorge through the seemingly immovable mountains. Seen from higher ground, the striking panoramic view offers an unobstructed vista of the famous "first bend of the Yangtze River".

Day 4 Lijiang: Banyan Tree Resort Lijiang (B, L) Today, we will visit the snow-packed Jade Dragon Snow Mountain by cable car. The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is considered the pre-eminent holy mountain by the nearby Naxi ethnicity and other national minority groups in the region. Reaching a height of 5,596 meters, the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain rises majestically into the clear blue sky, taking on the shape of a silver dragon. As to date, no one has conquered its peak. On the way back, we will visit the 800 year old city centre where construction began at the end of the Song Dynasty and lasting through the inaugural years of the Yuan Dynasty. Unlike other cities of antiquity in China, Lijiang was designed without grand walls and spacious avenues. In its stead are bridges, streams, and a maze of narrow streets which makes for a more natural and harmonious layout. Today, the city is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, with its cobblestone streets, traditional houses, and unique shops enjoyed by travelers from the world over. Enjoy a performance of the unique Naxi Orchestra in the evening (optional). Day 5 Lijiang: Banyan Tree Resort Lijiang (B) Time at leisure in Luxury Banyan Tree Resort Lijiang. Day 6 Lijiang - Kunming - Beijing / Shanghai (B) We bid farewell to mystical Yunnan. Transportation to the airport is arranged for your return flight to Kunming.
